Cursed Breakfast with Dan Hancox & Dr Kasia Tee

On this episode, I’m talking about what makes a breakfast ‘cursed’ – in the sense of how the word is commonly used on the internet to mean inducing some sort of indefinable inherent dread, not, like, the poltergeist sense – with the brilliant Dan Hancox and Dr Kasia Tee of the podcast Cursed Objects.

Cursed Objects is one of my favourite podcasts - on each episode they take a particular object, whether that’s an 'I Heart Catford' T-shirt or Canary Wharf and break down the cultural, social and political context that have resulted in the creation of this particular object, and what it means for us as a society, as humans. It’s a really really great podcast and I can’t recommend it enough. Kasia and Dan actually asked me to come on as a guest and I chose to talk about the great British institution of the meal deal. That episode went live this week and you can hear it on the Cursed Objects podcast feed wherever you usually listen. But while we were in the room together I thought I would make the most of the opportunity and asked them about their breakfast opinions. So you’ll hear what Dan makes of a Full English, why Kasia can’t eat scrambled eggs and why a Turkish breakfast tops the charts for them both. Bon appetit!
